this... really didn't come out as well as i'd hoped 
(maybe it's from rediscovering old pictures, but suddenly my drawing skills seem to have regressed 5 years!)
After a week or two of dragging amira around by the collar, the princess did what no-one expected, and did not get bored of her new pet. the king was astonished, though of course he pretended not to have noticed anything. his daughter was infamous for her short attention span, and the palace gardens sported a menagerie of cast off rabbits, cats, ponies and handsome young gardeners she had grown bored of. for her part, amira was getting used to being dragged about excitedly by the princess. at first it had been cripplingly embarrassing to walk along behind her in chains in public, but she soon realised behind the excitable and childish personality, the princess really did care for her. she'd never worn a collar before, but strangely being the princess' pet gave her a feeling she'd never had before: total security and protection. now she didn't mind being dragged along in public, because she was with her princess.
